Teaching Is Like Going On A Vacation
Philosophy of Teaching & Learning:
I picked the idea that teaching is like going on a vacation because it shows how I see children's learning as a journey full of exploring, discovering, and growing. Every child’s experience is special, just like a vacation. They learn at their own speed through fun and important activities. I think learning should be fun and exciting, not set up in a way that holds back creativity. This metaphor helps me see my job as a teacher. I am like a guide who helps, encourages, and listens to kids as they explore their surroundings and learn new skills. I picked this method because I really believe in learning through play. When people go on vacation, they learn by having new experiences, trying different activities, and engaging with their environment. This is much like how children learn by playing. This idea makes me think that learning should involve doing things, being interactive, and focusing on what kids are interested in. It also shows that I believe in including everyone because each child's path is unique and deserves respect and support. This philosophy is important to me because it inspires me to be adaptable and attentive in my teaching. Just like vacation plans can change, kids learning can also change based on what they are interested in, how they feel, and what they need. This makes me think about changing how I do things and making a place where every child feels safe, supported, and important. I picked this philosophy because it clearly reflects my views on teaching and learning in a creative and meaningful way. It helps me support children in becoming confident, curious, and involved learners.
